If you did an upgrade install: look in C:windows.oldProgram FilesMicrosoft Games; If you did a clean install: go to sources on the Windows 7 DVD and open install.wim using 7-Zip. Copy the recovered Purble Place folder somewhere convenient. Download a hex editor (e.g. Open PurblePlace.exe in the hex editor.

Pros: Installs seamlessly. Provides the solitaire I needed. Didn't test the others.

Other Thoughts: Running Windows 10 Home. Installed solitaire and minesweeper. I haven't tried minesweeper yet. I really wanted solitaire as I had in Windows 7. This works as identical in Windows 10 as it did in Windows 7, far as I can tell.
