Purble Place is one of pre-installed games on Windows 7 but not on Windows 8 and Windows 10. I upgraded directly from Windows 7 to 10, and was completely unaware of the fact the Microsoft has discontinues the old Windows 7 games. Instead, now we have to download the games from the Microsoft store. Though it doesn’t seems something too much important to worry about, but still being an old Windows 7 fan like you I wanted to run the old games on the new version of Windows.
Fortunately, I was successful in doing so i.e. playing Windows 7 Games in Windows 10. So, here is an easy guide following which you can also enjoy all of the Windows 7 games. The method is quite tricky, but follow the steps exactly as mentioned below and you will be well and good to go.
Method 1
1: Firstly you have to download this Zip Archive file that has Windows 7 games in it.
2: Once the file is downloaded, unpack and run the Win7GamesForWin10-Setup.exe file inside it.
3: Now you have to follow the onscreen installation wizard instruction, and check mark the games that you wish to install in Windows 10.
4: That’s all. Now head over to the Hey Cortana Search bar and type in the game name you want to play. Because I’m a big fan of chess, whenever I have spare time I use to practice my skills with computer.
Alternate Method
1: Download this Zip File. This one is different from the one given above. It contains Microsoft games along with a patch file.
2: Once downloaded, extract it and copy the Microsoft Games folder at the following location:
C:Program Files and in case you are a 64-Bit user, then
C:Program Files (x86)
3: Now, right click on Microsoft Game Patcher v1.2.exe file and Run as Administrator. If prompted by the UAC, hit Yes.
4: Now click on the Patch Button and close this patcher one it is done with patching.
5: Finally, locate the Microsoft Games Folder in C:Program Files>Microsoft Games and start enjoying the old Windows 7 games. This only includes Chess Titans, FreeCell, Hearts, Mahjong, Minesweeper, Solitaire and Spider Solitaire.
